The Algarve is renowned for sun and sangria, and you can enjoy both at Vila Velha in Sagres. Located only a block away from the beach, this whitewashed villa has a cosy dining room decorated with terra cotta tiled floors and rustic Portuguese bric a brac, and the kitchen serves up authentic regional fare. Vila Velha boasts a cosy winter fire as well as a sunny, covered terrace, making it ideal all year round for romantic nights out and lazy lunches. We love dishes such as the pork fillets in mango sauce; the wholemeal spaghetti with spicy mushroom sauce and grilled vegetables; and the home made walnut ice cream with a flambeed banana and chocolate sauce, and the delicious bread is baked on site every day.
