Om Roti
This award-winning restaurant owned by celebrity chef Tony Singh is situated in the heart of Edinburgh's financial district. Renowned for its superb Indian-Scottish cuisine, Roti's unpretentious dining room is a minimalist affair with black lacquered furniture, candy-coloured voile curtains and bowls of fuschia blossoms creating an effortlessly exotic mise-en-scène. Roti is famous for its Tiffin-style tapas menu made from secret family recipes, and we love the Hara Huran venison and spinach dumplings; Punjabi Mhachi - salmon marinated in coriander, chilli and Arjwan seeds; and the Aloo Nazakt – crispy potatoes stuffed with candied cherries, cottage cheese, coriander, spices, tamarind and mint chutney. Roti serves over 50 wines by the glass.

Recension
The best thing about the food at Roti has to be the combination of spices which results in a fantastic taste sensation with each mouthful. Every course we tried tasted great, including the side dishes and accompaniments. The only real negative on the food side was the lack of choice for dessert, with only 3 of the 7 or so on the menu being served . The 4 fantastic sounding "liquid desserts" (cocktails) were also not available, which was rather disappointing.

Roti is an indian restaurant with a difference. I have never come across the unusual combinations that were offered - the vension dumplings and crab dish were excellent - welll cooked and aromatic. I like the idea of the tiffins - you get smaller helpings and can take a few different options. Staff very friendly and the atmosphere was great for a Friday.Recension
Roti was a good Indian restaurant although we were virtually the only ones there for quite some time so ambience not too great! Still good food. the waitress had a habit of forgetting our orders, but I would still go again. The prawn starter was fantastic!!Besökare
