Om Margaux
A beautiful example of French Haute Cuisine and charming interior design is the Margaux - located just a few steps from the Brandenburg Gate and the Pariser Platz, this gourmet restaurant sets refreshing new standards. Elegant but distinctively modern and colourful, it sticks out of the mass of minimally cool, Zeitgeist-influenced restaurant designs one sees so often. The interior design concept of the Margaux was created by Professor Johanne Nalbach, the abstract modern paintings were done by Ingeborg zu Schleswig-Holstein, a former assistant of Andy Warhol in the 80s. The colourful paintings contrast with the subdued, indirect lighting and create an inspiring and extraordinary backdrop for the excellent culinary creations of chef Michael Hoffmann. His superb creations have been awarded with a Michelin star - quite remarkable as his sometimes daring variations and avantgarde cuisine are definitely out of the ordinary. The Margaux stands for superb dining in an excellently designed restaurant - a Locationsite favourite!

Margaux is considered one of the best Berlin restaurants and I now know why. We visited the restaurant during the Xmas period and were impressed with the quality of the food and the immaculate service. A tad pricey for the Berlin market but not when compared to London fine dining cuisine. Would definately reccomend it!Recension
We had our Christmas do at this restaurant for 7 people. It was a great location, the meal was amazing and very good value, around £100 a head including wine/champagne. Although this is quite an intemate restaurant we didn't feel too out of place there and the staff made us feel very welcome. Obviously if you are planning a loud Christmas party this is not the place, but for a few friends and some good food and conversation this restaurant was perfect.Recension
Margaux was one of the more expensive places we visited in Berlin. Wine list was good, but pricey, particularly in respect of the French offerings. Food came in choice of 3,5, or 7 course tasting menus, with a small selection of a la carte. We chose the 3 course: lobster starter, beef served two ways (simmered and roasted) and poached peach dessert. Definitively worthy of 1 star for food, service and ambience, but nothing that would move the needle hugely for gourmands, I think.Besökare
