David Philpott is the chef/patron of this wonderful new Italian restaurant in Golders Green, and he's been attracting hordes of true gastronomes here with his deft way with modern Italian dishes. The decor manages to be both sophisticated and relaxed, with modern art prints, loads of mirrors and
marble and a colour scheme reminiscent of the king of hearts. The lunch menu changes weekly, the dinner menu changes monthly. Be ready to try Philpott's latest creations. Do have the ribeye steak with gorgonzola mash
and barolo sauce if it's on. Dishes might also include roast tomato soup with pesto, and spaghetti with anchovies, lemon, olive oil and garlic. If you love Italian cuisine, and who doesn't, this is a place to cherish.

Very quiet on the Friday lunchtime we went, but excellent food at Philpott's Mezzaluna. This must be the best value for money for serious dining in N/NW London.

Service was excellent, However I have visited this restaurant previously and the experience was not as memorable. However I would still recommend.

Recension

We had a lovely meal at Philpotts Mezzaluna. The grilled asparagus and foie gras starters were a good size and the main courses were delicious and cooked to perfection. Although there could have been slightly more ambiance if there had been some good music, the service was very attentive and overall the price was good value with the mandatory service charge of 12.5% going towards free hors d'oevres, bread and truffles to finish.
