Om Palmiro
Multi-award-winning Palmiro restaurant in Manchester landed on the scene, generated massive buzz, won Best Newcomer from Manchester City Life and never looked back. Set in a former car accessories shop in Whalley Range, this starkly minimalist dining room features natural pigments, authentic 1950’s seating and, er, that’s about it. The New Italian cooking is the thing here, a short, simple, seasonal, regional Italian trattoria-style menu featuring some ingredients sent by the owner’s father from Venice. One of the signature dishes is Sarde in Saor, a Venetian dish of grilled sardines layered with shredded onion, an agrodolce flavour. The wine list highlights imaginative new winemakers from Italy. Lively ambience at weekends.

Recension
Visited Palmiro in Manchester. The food was superb, well presented and a true example of typical Italian dining. Being a Sun only one staff member on so service was not too good, nice to be able to chat but will have to judge on another occassion, would return. Decor a little shabby but seemed to be getting over having an extension, not too impressed by outer view maybe not have gone in on impulse but inside the one staff was very helpful, food & wine excellent, good value, some choices setmenu

We went to Palimiros, what was, for me, a self-enforced absence of 5 yrs in which time a stylish extension has been built and the service has very much improved, if not in sophistication, then certainly in unobseqious friendliness. My rib-eye was not of the best cut but the 3-coloured mash it came with was delicious and this carbfest taste explosion could have easily been missed due to the understated menu descriptions. Recommendations: Menu needs rewording and please just paint the walls!Besökare
