Osteria Mauro restaurant in Mottram St Andrew near Macclesfield is a rustic Italian family restaurant in a fabulous country setting. With a pedigree this good – chef Enzo Mauro came from Capri to Britain, thank heaven, where he has made many people very happy at Briscola in Bolllington and Stock in Manchesster – Osteria Mauro was bound to be brilliant. The modern décor in this former pub features wooden beams, muted colours, understated oak flooring and marble tabletops. Sourcing is impeccable, especially for the fresh fish, fine meats and artisan meats and cheeses that go into the fabulous antipasto. Pasta is handmade fresh every day. An entirely Italian wine list – except for fizz -- completes the picture.

We had a girls night out at Osteria Mauro and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Food, service and ambience were great. Will definitely return.
Recension
First visit to Osteria Mauro for an evening meal. Food was very good almost up to real italian food i.e, in Italy. Only let down by a feeling we were in a school canteen. We were in the lower dining area , no view, other tables too close and noisy. Will try again to see if the other areas are more in keeping with the standard of the service and food.Recension
Our first visit. Menu had great variety and the food was excellent, particularly the fresh fish dishes. Generous portions. Good, lively service. Waiter's knowledge of wine list was not great and he became confused a couple of times - but this is a minor grumble really from what was a most enjoyable evening. We'll be back.Besökare
