Osborne Road isn’t the quietest of places, but on it the tranquil open plan dining experience of Oldfields Restaurant acts as an oasis away from the hustle and bustle. White walls adorned with mirrors reflecting natural light let in by Oldfields’ large windows create a feeling of space in which to enjoy simple yet delicious British cuisine, voted the best service in the north east by the Gourmet Society in 2007. All food is prepared using the finest local, seasonal produce and served by hardworking yet calm, friendly staff both in the evenings, when Oldfields is perfect for a either a quiet meal or a celebration, and at lunch, where business folk and people on more casual jaunts alike find a place to relax.
