Om New Monsoon
Like a culinary Pied Piper, New Monsoon’s owner and executive chef Sanjeev Kumar brought his regulars with him when he left The Elm in Staffordshire to transform the Forge Inn in Leek into a contemporary Indian restaurant. The 19th-century former country pub now serves an innovative
North Indian menu based on ancient Ayurvedic principles. Indian food is based on six tastes, from sweet to astringent, and an unbalance in the six, so goes the belief, leads to ailments. In other words, every amazing dish is very healthy, low in salt and has all six tastes (anything you don’t understand, ask the lovely staff. They consider your time there as more of a learning experience than a belly-filling exercise). Such a challenge is beautifully met by Kumar, International Indian Chef of the Year 2006, whose winning dishes are on the menu for all to savour.
New Monsoon Restaurant is home to the winner of the 2006 International Indian Chef of the Year!

Upon looking for a good restaurant for dinner during our stay at Alton Towers I found the New Monsoon with their champion chef. The inside looks like a normal pub but the menu is entirely Indian with a few unusual dishes. The food did not disappoint and I would highly recommend the place.Recension
\new Monsoon - Ashboune Road, Leek Service was a bit slow as they were busy and didn't have many waitresses on. Food was lovely - very authentic and tasty with great amount of spices & varietyBesökare
