Om Le Lido
Arrival at the Le Lido is recommended 30 minutes before the dinner starts
Once upon a time le tout Paris could be found enjoying dinner and an unparalleled cabaret show at Le Lido on the Champs-Elysees. Artists and writers, politicians and celebrities, including Elvis Presley, have spent historic evenings here. These days, the clientele is a combination of tourists and corporate groups, but the show is every bit as magical and the crowds are just as dazzled. The specially-designed theatre is built without pillars – every seat is a good seat. You start your unforgettable evening with half a bottle of Le Lido’s own champagne, dine on one of three inventively French menus created by executive chef Paul Bocuse, hear Le Lido’s own orchestra, take to the dance floor, then sit back and enjoy ‘Bonheur’. With astounding special effects, music, dancing, lasers, exotic locations, the beautiful topless Bluebell Girls and just as beautiful Lido Boy Dancers, Le Lido’s cabaret show is second to none. The menu includes dishes like starter of terrine of foie gras with toasted country bread, main course of fillet of duck with apple and potato brochette and gingerbread sauce, and desert of passion fruit and chocolate fusion. Le Lido is the most famous cabaret show in the world – you’ll be glad you came.

Le Lido is worth a visit, however if you have done the Moulin Rouge you will know what to expect. Thankfully the food is much better here; still generally canteen style; ie the catering is done in bulk quantities. This is not a fine dining experience and would recommend the show with drinks only, as whilst you are in Paris this is not a great example of the gastronomic experiences that are available out there; better fine dining experiences can be found in even the small cafes dotted around.Recension
Le Lido didn't really live up to the glamour we expected - the food was ok (considering the venue served about 1,000 people). Costumes may look good from a distance (we were close up) but the performers look bored and unprofessional. Also, it's likely you WILL be able to see, regardless of the lamposts in front of your seat - they drop when the show starts. Done once, never again.Besökare
