the "posh" restaurant is attached to the tapas bar, and therefore there is always "people noise" filtering through which creates a nice feeling. the restaurant itself is very nicely furnished and create a lovely feeling of class/ambience. the menu is interesting, with a "chef's special" and the wine list is varied, with quite alot of spanish wines to choose from if one is daring. there is always someone to ask advice from if needed.

la pasta has two restaurants, the bubbly, noisy tapas bar and the quieter, elegant restaurant. we chose the restaurant. good service, lovely ambience, nice food. some interesting touches, such as flambe-ing different main dishes, one being whole seabass cooked in salt. the coating is then lifted off to leave beautifully cooked seabass. some nice starters, particularly the prawn and scasllop in slasa. deserts a little ordinary, but perhaps i was too full by then to really be interested

Recension

La Pasta at El Patio Bromley. I was surprised that La Pasta wasn’t busier on a Saturday night – it certainly deserves to. A Pianist plays tirelessly on the balcony above the diners, while the waiting staff were attentive, but not overbearing. I had the Scallops and Beef Medallions. The Scallops appeared to be over generous with sauce, though this did not overpower the flavour. The Intense Chocolate was off but the Spanish Creme Caramel was very good. Dover Sole very good too!

Recension

The standard of food at El Patio was, as ever, excellent. The service was efficient, yet unobtrusive. The scallops as a starter were tasty but highly spiced, and the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection. Other dishes tried, were the crab claw starter, and the mushroom gratin. Main dishes ordered were veal, and dover sole. There was not a clean plate on the table.

El Patio is a lovely restaurant but on a wed night it was completely empty (completely empty!!!!). The service was great but then they weren't exactly busy. Scallops and prawns starters were absolutely delicious but beef guinees had way too much thyme in it but was nice and tender. Steak au poivre was generous portion but whole peppercorns were a bit much. Don't use toilets for restaurant - awful, go to toilets at tapas bar. Is a little expensive for what it is. Avoid mid-week I say.

You'll have much more fun in El Patio's tapas bar than their restaurant. Tapas is buzzing on a Friday night with a healthy level of noise & great sights & sounds coming from the open kitchen. Don't get me wrong, the food in the restaurant is great but the tapas is better value and much more fun. Everything we ordered was eaten and enjoyed apart from the veal. Don't bother - tough, tasteless, soggy. Prawns a delight as were the liver and kidneys. Only thing: add more meat and less veg to dishes!

Recension

El Patio did not disappoint, from the food to the service and then later on to the bar with music, it provides everything you need to make you a regular visitor. We made our visit last in excess of 5 hours.

Recension

Our vist to La Pasta at El Patio Bromley was a very enjoyable experience. The food was outstanding and genuinely Spanish. We have booked to go back next month.
