Langtry’s Restaurant is absolutely steeped in London history. Once part of the home of society temptress and stage actress Lillie Langtry, this unique restaurant delivers an intriguing mix of old-style listed London glamour and modern romantic charm. Head Chef Robert Lyons has reinvented a beautifully British menu to match. Start with a traditional beef tea or the signature starter of prawn cocktail, made modern with the addition of prawn tempura and marie rose ice cream. Comfort food rounds out the mains, with toad in the hole, crackling and Romney Marsh lamb all making appearances. Desserts continue the theme, and include a trio of blancmange. Wine lovers are also well catered for, with a different region receiving a special focus on the wine list each month.
A credit card is required to secure a reservation for groups of 6 persons or more, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of the reservation) and no-shows will incur a charge of £10 per person

Had an excellent meal in the restaurant. Not the place to go if you want a lively meal. But for a romnatic night it is perfect. The food was interesting and very good.

After reading the rave review in the Metro, I was skeptical about Langtry's. Indeed, after a long wait to be seated I was anxious about the rest of the might. However, that seemed to be the only glitch in an otherwise flawless service. We opted for the Laroche limitless dinner offer: decent wine and excellent food. The smoked duck breast starter was superb and the red nullet main was fantastic. The building was gorgeous and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.Recension
