L’Ambrosia restaurant in Calais a few steps from the Bassin du Paradis is a warm, inviting, traditional French restaurant with a special skill for … wok cooking. It makes perfect sense, as light and flavourful wok artistry suits the way we like to eat now. This relaxed restaurant is overseen by the charming personality of Karine Martin who welcomes you and looks after you. The dining room has a rustic air, with rush-seated chairs, leaded pendant lighting, tiled floor and rosy table linens. The menu ranges from local favourites and classics like moules marinieres and five other moules dishes to excellent salads and creations like wok-cooked peppered beef with curry and biologique soya milk. A perfect place for a snack or a lingering meal.
