Om L'Alchimie
L’Alchimie’s chestnut-coloured covered terrace sits beneath the ornamental fronts of Rue de la Bourse in the historic financial quarter of Lyon, near the banks of the Rhone. Inside, spicy-dark walls, darkwood furniture, and metallic modern art by Lyonnais, Olivier Di-Tommaso, create a sophisticated atmosphere that verges on cosy. Inventive chef/co-owner Pascal Nolin controls the L’Alchimie kitchen, offering creative, semi-gastronomic French cuisine showing a bias towards seafood. The St Jacques risotto, and blue fin tuna pave with caviar are particularly recommended. Desserts are delightful. Formerly Assiette et Maree until 2007, the restaurant that’s now L’Alchimie is still synonymous with a happy experience.
