Om La Belle Histoire
La Belle Histoire restaurant in Lille at the foot of the Porte de Gand brings the taste of Provence to the very heart of the North. The atmospheric dining room is très Vieux Lille, with artful part-exposed brick, furnishings in wrought iron, candles and fairy lights, and fascinating works of art. La Belle Histoire is a favourite among clued-up locals for romantic evenings and relaxed meals with friends. The refined cuisine has particular depth in the fish and seafood dishes and is full of surprises, like starter of scallop carpaccio with two citron fruits, main course of tarragon squid and wild rice in tagine, and dessert of chocolate raviolis with crème anglais. The short, carefully-chosen wine list is packed with discoveries.

Le Belle Histoire was an eclectic mix of decor however on some on the tables there was a vase with goldfish in, not sure I would have liked to eaten my food with a fish looking at me. The foie gras was well presented and very tasty and the duck was cooked to perfection, the chef even had time to personalise each plate! We were offered extras such as canapes to start and a palate cleanser before desert which was a nice touch. Reserve a table as the small tables are very small.

La Belle Histoire is a lovely little restaurant with a very relaxed and Mediterranean feel. The décor is simple and warm and the food is excellent. There are two rooms to chose from. The one at the front is more for couples, and the one at the back more for groups. The place felt so relaxed we could have stayed there much longer...Recension
La Belle Histoire was a nice date night out in Lille! Loved the decor and the place was very full with happy frenchies! Meals were small with not too much on the plate, but definately full after 3 courses. The desserts were absolutely delicious - strawberry crumble and the mango panna cotta - mm!! Extra little touches were nice such as free appetiser and mini shot glass size mousse after the main. Very accommodating to non french speakers. All in all, pleasant night out!Besökare
