Il Porto di Mare, i.e. the Sea Port, is a cosy Mediterranean-style restaurant located in historic Berwick-upon-Tweed. Although the area was overrun 14 times in just three centuries, it never tires of being discovered. One of the most popular restaurants in Northumberland, the menu offers an eclectic mix of old favourites and soon-to-be-new ones. Fresh fish (a speciality), roasts, and light snacks are the order of the day here. In the summer the Garden Terrace offers a casual ambiance and is a favourite with local families.

Recension

We dined at Il Porto di Mare on a Friday night at 8pm, and we were the only people in the restaurant. We took this to be a bad sign, but our fears were unfounded as the food was very good and the service was excellent. By the end of the meal another few tables had been filled and the ambience had pcked up.
