Om Hotel du Vin - Henley-on-Thames
Hotel du Vin & Bistro restaurant and Henley-on-Thames are perfectly suited for one another – both lovely, British and in the very best of taste. Set behind the classic Georgian facade of the old Brakspears brewery near the Thames, the Bistro at Hotel du Vin takes full advantage of the stylish, distinctive atmosphere of the historic building. The Bistro offers a menu rooted in classic European cuisine with a contemporary edge with daily selections by head chef Matt Green-Armytage using fresh local produce. The extensive, eclectic exciting wine list features an impressive number of wines by the glass as well as irresistible daily -- good value -- wine specials.

I suppose brunch on new years day was never going to be wonderful. But there was a very noisy children's party on one side of the restaurant and one of our full english breakfasts arrived...we waited a good 10 minutes before asking about the second one and it was brought fairly quickly...but no one thought to check we were OK... Both breakfasts were rather meagre for the £13.50 and the mushrooms (2 tiny ones) were stone cold. Not up to scratch. We didn't pay for the second breakfast.

L'Hotel du Vin in Henley is a lovely place to meet for lunch. However they do have a set menu with only a few choices per course and the food is not exactly light - ie it is a proper meal, not somewhere to go for salads or light dishes. The fish was very good, but the creamy desert tasted a little curdled.Recension
We had Sunday lunch in L'Hotel du Vin in Henley. The staffwere friendly but there was a slight 'discussion' as to the table we wished to occupy even though the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived. The food was quite good without being exceptional, but the embience is great for sun lunch. Will go again. Parking is not easy and you have to park in the centre of town car park.Besökare
