Om Fortnum & Mason
A stone's throw from Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace, Fortnum and Mason is part and parcel of traditional Englishness and the St James's Restaurant is no exception. Original oil country scenes and seascapes adorn the walls. Tables are well lit and well spaced. The menu is British through and through and takes advantage of Fortnum's special suppliers. Not surprisingly, one of the favourite dishes is roast Aberdeen Angus Beef. Wine List of 28 Fortnum& Mason Wines. Afternoon Tea available from 3pm - 5pm daily. What a treat.
Opening hours:
Tues - Sat 11.30am - 5.30pm Closed Sunday, Monday and Bank Holidays

Fortnum and Mason may be updating itself, but St. James's restaurant on the 4th floor is reassurringly untouched. At around £30 it's pricier than tea in many London hotels, but the food and surroundings are hard to beat, and the service is pretty good too. High tea and afternoon tea both come with very light scones and a choice of pastries The only let down is the rather stifling cloakroom.Recension
The best of British taste!!Recension
The food was lovely, but not outstanding, which I expected from F&M. Also, the choice is quite limited. Service was warm and professional, but there wasn't much atmosphere. It is deliberately formal, but it also felt a bit dull. The toilets are lovely and clean. I'd go again, but I wouldn't rush.Besökare
