Om Fitzroy Dolls
The delightfully-named Fitzroy Dolls is the belle of the dining ball at Hotel Russell, a magnificent terracotta Grade 2 listed building close to Covent Garden. A predominance of marble and natural light lend a fresh, airy feel to this traditional dining experience. Grand pillars lead the eye to the room’s focal point; a grand Victorian marble fireplace. A generous menu features an eclectic selection of dishes. You might start with carpaccio of beef showered in pecorino shavings, then move on to a main course of seared yellow fin tuna with pickled vegetable shavings and tender squid noodles. To finish, may we recommend a baked chocolate brownie with marmalade ice cream. Smartly-dressed staff provide a consistently friendly, chatty service. There is a wide selection of cocktails.

The Fitzroy Dolls was frankly a so-so experience. Attentive service but slow to get food on the table. Decor needs a frank uplifting to make the experience agreeable (a little background music or a couple paintings on the wall would be nice). Food was ok, but portions were a bit small. Go for the lamb, not the seafood ragout. Does it justify a £85 price tag for two (wine inc.)? Nah not really.Recension
very nice restaurant and very nice hotel, was very empty when we went and so this meant that there was very little atmosphere. The staff, food and drink was superbRecension
We went to Fitzroy Dolls on Sunday and although the restaurant itself is very nice, there was no atomsphere as there was only about 5 tables full. The food was very nice but not worth what we paid.Besökare
