Om Firefly
Firefly has flown from Southwest London and landed at the Old Bailey where it has transformed the Magpie and Stump into a three-floored modern ‘local’ lounge bar, complete with requisite palewood floors, angular darkwood furniture, and a large mirror opposite the bar. The friendly atmosphere’s here too, only a bit edgier, this being the City. Lunchtimes on the raised ground floor see a swift trade in modern European classics such as fishcakes, ribeye steaks and lovely risotto cakes. With the evening comes a lighter bar menu of mezze platters and side dishes. For your entertainment, there's also live music every week. Please note, Firefly only serves bar snacks on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Admittedly it was a last minute booking for a team christmas lunch we needed somewhere with british food and close by, with most places being fully booked, Firefly was picked. On arrival upstairs was busy but we were led to our table downstairs where there was only 1 other table dining. Considering the festive season there was nothing festive to make it feel like christmas. However, the food was enjoyable and service was fine. Just needed a bit better ambience.

i booked for an early supper at 4:30pm, so they weren't busy. service was slow. many of us ordered the Thai curry. the portion was so SMALL. one tea cup of rice, 2 and a half mushrooms and 4 pieces of 50p size 8mm thick chicken in a sauce. i had guests, i was embarrassed. menu was very limited. coffee came in three rounds 10 minutes apart from each other when ordered together. probably because it was happy hour. won't go back although taste of food is quite good. many choices in that area.Recension
