Elche Restaurante de Tapas may sound somewhat exotic a place for Leytonstone, but that’s because it’s a Spanish restaurant named after the Lady of Elche, an ancient Iberian sculpture. As colourful on the inside as it is on the outside, this charismatic place serves a generous range of good value hot and cold tapas, many of them vegetarian. Specials include crab claws in bread crumbs, and house salad.
The best night to go is Friday night when flamboyant flamenco is performed from 8.45pm. Apparently, to really appreciate this ancient Spanish art you must be in an intimate setting with good friends, food and wine. Sounds good to us.

Recension

We chose Elche Restaurante de Tapas as the venue for our Christmas lunch by asking everyone in the party to vote for their choice. The restaurant was pretty chilly when we arrived but the welcome was warm. There was a choice of Tapas or a traditional meal and our party chose from both. The food was plentiful and tasty, but not gourmet. Service was slick and fast and the restaurant had a nice ambience - shame about the loos.

We went to Elche Restaurant de Tapas for a girls Xmas night out and it was the perfect venue. Catered well for the vegetarians among us. They do a mean jug of Sangria and kept the food and drink flowing all night. Highly recommend it!

Recension

An intergenerational party of diners that were suitably entertained by an excellent interactive flamenco dancer. Good range of set menus including both the traditional and tapas. A nice selection of reasonably priced wines and a really fun place for groups.
