Om Chaophraya - Manchester
Lucky Manchester. It’s the first city to gain a sibling of the superbly successful Leeds Thai restaurant, Chaophraya (pronounced chow-pie-a) The most impressive feature of this stunning two-floored space above Sam’s Chop House on Chapel Walks is the huge art installation-like display of fresh sealife by the kitchen. The big, big menu features all the usual suspects alongside sizeable salads and filling, fragrant soups, but also six curries reflecting regional specialties. If in the mood for spice, order no.35, a red curry. And it gives way more than a nod to vegetarians. Presentation is second to none, and fabulous staff provide a brilliant, faultless service. Chaophraya is the kind of place that you can’t wait to recommend to those who’ve yet to discover this Thai beauty.
Please note - this restaurant does not take toptable bookings on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Opening hours:
Mon - Sun: 12pm - 10:30pm
Chaophraya is named after the river that runs through central Thailand.

We love Thai food and the food at Chaophraya was the best we have ever tasted. We ate on a Sunday evening and the place was very busy - which created a great atmostophere. Shame they hadn't chilled the white wine properly though.Recension
The seafood was lovely, perfectly cooked and the staff were attentive and service was fast. I love this place and would recommend it.Recension
Had the vegetarian platter to share, which was great, but not quite as good as the spare ribs I ordered as a side. Was impressed that the waiter made an effort to find an nice table for us, as although it was originally requested, it looked like they didn't have any left, but fair play to him for finding one.Besökare
