The Caversham Restaurant in the centre of Reading is nestled in one of the best hotels in town, the Penta Hotel Reading. Combining a range of both classic and innovative dishes in an entertaining, open-theatre style kitchen, Caversham’s is quickly becoming more than a locally-known destination. Try the langoustines duck spring rolls with a plum dipping sauce. Steak lovers are also well catered for with a nicely selected grill menu. Friendly staff and exceptional service is sure to make you feel right at home.

The food at the Caversham is a little disappointing for its price band. It's nicely presented but the only thing we could recommend is the steak, which is excellent. The mushroom/brie tart starter was cold (was it supposed to be?) and the soup was bland, as was the vegetarian main, which I wasn't altogether sure of - the griddled parts had a "meaty/fishy" taste which I didn't like. Everything was ok, but nothing was outstanding although the steak was worth paying extra for.

Good restaurant with friendly and attentive staffRecension
This restaurant always manages to exceed it's own expectations every time we visit. The staff are very polite and are always happy to help and assist with menu choices. The food seems to be cooked with much care and attention. The layout seemed to be well thought out as it allows diners to have a peaceful meal without losing any of the restaurants ambience.Besökare
