CASA ROBLES is located in Calle Alvarez Quintero (number 58), which used to be called 'Mercaderes'. Nearby is Calle Alames, which is filled with all kinds of shops and merchandise. It looks onto the symbolic Cathedral of Seville which is located just 30 feet from the restaurant. CASA ROBLES was founded in 1954 by Juan Robles on the day before Ascension day. It served as a winery where the new wines of Villalba del Alcor, from his own vinyards in Huelva, were sold. CASA ROBLES developed into a extensive winery/ bar with two new buildings next to the original. Around 1964 the restaurant, which was located in a small room on the first floor, started to grow. It was enlarged with another dining room in the upper part of the building. The early days were difficult because most guests preferred to eat tapas at the bar rather than a sit-down meal. Nowdays CASA ROBLES has 10 dining rooms which have varying capacity (located in the main building as well as in the surroundings buildings): - Sacristía room (with a capacity for 6 diners) - Rosa (10) - Carmen room (14) - Vinotece room (8) - Inmaculada room (14) - San Ignacion room (14) - Buhardilla room (5) - Biblioteca room (40) - Juan Robles room (20) - Laura room (12) - Jesús room (4) - The Upstairs room (30) - The ground floor room (50)
