Cannon Tandoori restaurant in the heart of the City of London is an Indian eaterie that’s both in the classic Anglo style and also right up to date, with excellent, smiling service, bamboo chairs, swirly carpet and palette of blue, white and pink. Just a few steps from Cannon Street Station, it’s all below-stairs so you’re tucked under arching vaulted ceilings, each of the three dining rooms decorated individually. The Vintage Indian menu features lots of chef’s specials, including classic jalfrazies, butter chicken and balti masalas and many tandoori dishes with easy-on-the-pocket wines to match. Cannon Tandoori is a warm, familiar and completely reliable restaurant perfectly sited in the square mile.
