Om Cafeen i Nikolaj
This cafe, which to some evokes Greenwich Village in the 1950s, is on the site that, around 1530, was the scene of the thundering sermons of Hans Tausen, a father of the Danish Reformation. Today orating has been replaced by ordering -- from an array of Danish lunches including a tasty variety of open-faced sandwiches along with homemade soups. You can always count on the cook preparing various types of herring. Danish sliced ham on good homemade bread is a perennial favorite, and there is also a selection of Danish cheese. Nikolaj is a simple cafe for good-tasting food prepared with fresh ingredients and sold at a fair price.

Monday - Saturday 11:30-17:00
Dinner - open Sunday and in the evening for parties.
Dinner - open in the Summer and Christmas period.
