The decor in Brunello is unusual but not unpleasant. Food was very good, especially the ravioli. The temperature in the restaurant was very high, which did rather spoil the experience.

Recension
We ate at Brunello last Friday. The decor, ambience and atmosphere was quite special. The staff try very hard to please. The Saffron Risotto as a starter was a little heavy and though cooked well was a little bland and the serving was too big. If in Rome again we will definately give this another go.

Booked Brunello for lunch with my parents and girlfriend and was very disappointed. I know we are spoilt by good restautrants in London, but Rome really should have something better to offer than this. Tiny portions (and I mean tiny - main course of steamed prawns and rice came with about 4 prawns and two tablespoons of rice), poor service and no real ambience at all. Perhaps it is better for dinner, but if your are looking for good italian cooking I recommend going to my parents house instead!

We had the set menu. It was fun to try a selection of wines, and the food was very tasty, but the portions were rather small and it would have been nice to have some meat as opposed to fish for the main course. The staff were lovely and made our evening and booking through Toptable made arranging a surprise birthday meal in Rome very easy.

Brunello Rome is part of a 5 star hotel it is beutiful the food is fantastic great flavour I had stewed squid wich I could never make and I have not seen in any other restarant it melted in my mouth. The wine recomended by the waiter was 40 Euro about £28 but it was devine, The bill for 4 was 235 Euro about £165 this was after 20% deductioin and was for 3 starts 4 main 2 dessert 2 bottles of wine and a brandy the bill had our 20% deducted and we were given our free drink without asking

Excellent food. Excellent service. I booked this restaurant through TopTable very late the night before as i was unable to get a reservation in Dal Bolognese by booking directly and could not have been happier with the change - I don't think anywhere else in Rome would have been better. Following cocktails outside we were seated and immediately served complimetary glasses of Champagne and squid carpaccio amuse bouche. 7 courses followed. All Excellent! Brunello is in a hotel and the atmosphere reflects this, the decor is beautifully luxurious and the service formal, but the general atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. The food was delicious, but the portions were very small and overall the meal was overpriced even with the discount. There was also some confusion over the toptable offer. We enjoyed our experience as a special occasion, but felt that we could have got better value for money elsewhere in Rome or at any restaurant in London.
