Poised to write a review and I can't actually remember what we ate, which sums up the food really. That said the Pinot Noir for around £15 was good value.

Fantastic meal out with my family and exellent value for money with the 2 for 1 meal offer. Only £20 per head including drinks and a complimentary soup starter from the chef plus sorbet before our mains!! Highly recommended. Can't wait to go back!

The restaurant had a party downstairs, the slightly spoiled an otherwise enjoyable evening out. The service was a little slow, more than made up for by a selection of freebies mini starters (I would have paid for the lime sorbet, it was great) and the engaging personality of the owner (who obviously cares & plays the piano well). Steak was a bit thin, and although it tasted good you'd expect more meat for a £20 steak. Just next time, close the door on the party downstairs, it killed the atmos!

Ben Bowers is always a good bet. Tony the owner has been there for 35 yrs!! and the food and service is always first class. He puts his wonderful personality stamp on everything

Had it not been for the two for one offer (which only applied to the main course) I would have found this restaurant expensive. I chose the pheasant for my main course and found it a little dry. I chose the cheese platter for desert and found the choice a bit bland. The service however was very good, and the ambience relaxing and comfortable.

Unfortunately a slight delay meant we had to push our reservation back, but the staff at Ben Bowers were more than accommadating. Food was lovely, we strayed from the 2 course set menu, but both dishes were worth it! Ambience only scored slightly lower as was not very busy, but what else do you expect from a Wed night? All in all, well worth a visit and if on a budget the 2-3 course set menu seems a real bargain!

Myself and my partner went for Dinner at Ben Bowers on a Friday evening. The service was excellent, although the starters did take a while and when the wine we had ordered had run out, we were given the next bottle up for no additional cost. The food was very nice, my partners lamb was exquisite. The only downside was the ambiance, or lack of. It seemed very quite for a Friday evening, except for a rather loud party. Apart from that, a very nice restaurant.

we had a fantastic night. i was celebrating my 50 birthday with family,(almost 20 of us) the food was beautiful, service was friendly and professional managing to serve other diners plus my party on a busy saturday night. nothing was too much trouble. i would recommend Ben Bowers to anyone for any occation. there's a choice of the newly redecorated light, airy upstairs dining room, or the intimate, ship cabin-like downstairs, both with the same menu. Good choices on menu, nice wine list that's not too overpriced, and friendly service. Can't fault it!

I booked a table at Ben Bowers Restaurant for my daughter and I as a Saturday evening treat during our short visit to Notts. We loved it! The food was great, the service was friendly and we had a really enjoyable and chilled evening. When we are next in Notts will defiantly be returning. :-)
