Beija Flor restaurant just off Bordeaux’s busy Place de la Victoire should be recognised as an embassy of Brazilian cuisine and culture. This exciting eaterie, with its bright yellow frontage, sunny orange interior, authentic menu and vibrant cabaret will whisk you to the exotic lands of the Amazon and carnaval. The menu features true Brazilian home and street food in dishes like three types of bolinhos, giant churrasco brochettes, feijoada, ximxim, plantains, coconut flan, as well as samples of the Brazilian national drink, cachaca. After dinner at the weekends, the dancers, acrobats and singers take the floor and delight diners with a thrilling and energetic spectacle that will have you leaping to your feet to join in.
