The personality with the big welcoming smile at Basmati is Shahin, also the restaurant's owner and chef. He is the one behind all the wonderfully creative flavours of the set menu, which includes a variety of changing Indian delicacies (his Pashawar Nan Bread with fruits and nuts is to die for). The dishes are very tasty and mild, but if you want them hot, there are sauces available ? no need to worry, though, as Shahin will advise you beforehand in his personable and friendly manner, which ones are hot and which ones are not! Shahin has been cooking for nearly 20 years and all of his ideas are based on the different cuisines of India as he prefers to offer a wide variety of Indian cooking styles. This is a family business which he runs with his brothers, Shamim, Munir, Rashed and Alamin who also help attend to your every need, making any time you visit Basmati a truly special dining experience.
