Barnes Grill bar and restaurant is owned by Antony Worrall Thompson, which tells you all you need to know about the fabulousness of its ingredients – from hand-caught Scottish scallops to home-bred Middle White pigs and veg from AWT’s own farm. The latest addition to the chef’s small group of restaurants is a prettily laid-back place, with exposed brick, vaulted ceilings, cushion-lined banquettes and fabulous purple chandeliers. Start with homemade potted shrimps or cheese filo parcels, then go for a classic, properly-aged ribeye steak with béarnaise sauce and fantastic hand-cut chips or a top-of-the-league bangers and mash. If you need an excuse to go south of the river, this is it.
Please note - on Saturday evenings this restaurant has 2 sitting times: 7pm and 9pm.Bookings are not taken for weekday lunches.

We were at Barnes Grill with a group of guests. It was a pain not to be able to eat a la carte, but the set menu was ok and the restaurant were flexible enough to make adjustments for 1 guest. Our waiter was very helpful and courteous.

We went to the Barnes Grill the Sunday before Xmas - with no expectation and left with no real feeling of any kind. One vegetarian and one frothing at the mouth for some good quality meat were satisfied, with one delicately cooked and good quality steak and one tasty fishcake. The wine list is reasonable and broad, the atmosphere light and suited to parties. The bar extortionate, as expected. In summary we enjoyed ourselves but felt rather underwhelmed.Recension
Barnes Grill - we spent New Year at the Barnes Grill and overall had a very good evening. We were rather disappointed though with the food that we sent back once as it was over cooked, and ate the second time even though it was still overcooked,Besökare
