Om Balls Brothers - Lime Street
Balls Brothers Lime Street in London’s Square Mile is British to its fingertips. The famous vintners’ restaurants are popular haunts throughout the City – this one is practically the staff canteen for the Lloyds folk across the street. The trad moss-green dining room with its starchy linens, leather upholstered chairs, antique bookcases, framed prints and sconces is very like a gentlemen’s club. And the Balls Brothers menu offers the best of Blighty’s cooking: pan-fried calves’ liver with crispy bacon and bubble and squeak, and steak and kidney pudding with wild watercress mash are signatures. Richard Balls’ wine list ranges from skint to bonus and everything’s good.

This is the third time i have eaten here in a short time. The standard of food can vary, however, the service remains first class. Still a winner.Recension
Although Balls Brothers has a standard format, especially for the 'standing snacks' style of food and drink, the restaurant in Lime Street is excellent. Most of the clientelle have walked about 10 paces from Lloyd's across the road but the service and quality of food is certainly worth the money and the atmosphere lively but sufficiently discreet and business like. A place I will return to regularly.Recension
Balls Brothers' restaurant on Lime Street is furnished and decorated like a gentlemen's club and we enjoyed having the large dining room to ourselves mid-week - so my low mark for ambience was simply because some people like to watch others and there weren't any! The bar next door was busy. Our waitress was probably new and, whilst she was attentive, she did not know much. Fish was over-seasoned to our taste - we don't cook with salt at all.Besökare
