Antica Pesa was a goed choice for a classic new years evening. A 1st class dinner, wine at your own choice from a variated and partly very exclusive wine list. We needed though to calm down the speed at which coarses were served to manage to spread out our dinner and coffie up til midnight. Service friendly and efficient. Beauityfull cave-like diningroom with greatt fresco's of different styles painted onto all wall's. Good modern background music at a very acceptable volume. No loud partying

We felt Antica Pesa was highly overrated. Clearly a 'celebrity' hangout (not so subtely displayed with 100's of pictures on the wall). Food was average, highest markup of wine we saw in rome (in some cases double the price of other good restaurants). Although the host was extremely helpful and pleasant, we did not like the attitude of some of the other waiting staff especially the sommelier who treated us like small children. The room is different. Overall not impressed.

very bad service I informed that I didn't eat fish or seafood and the second options brought were so bad that I left most of the food on the plate and yet was charged full price for it Serivce really bad and not attentive I would never return to the place or send my friends over

the restaurant was very well presented and the waiters were very funny and accommodating as they spoke mostly italian and we spoke barely any! there was A LOT of food on our set menu, and some extra dishes that weren't even on the menu. We were so stuffed at the end of it! Having said that, the food came out a bit cold which we figured was because it was a set menu and probably the food was all prepared beforehand. So that was a little disappointing. Overall, an average experience.

We went to Antica Pesa for a New Years Eve (2008) meal and have to say it was an excellent experience. The food was outstanding, the service warm, friendly and the waiting staff couldn't do enough to make sure the whole experience would be one you wouldn't forget. The whole ambience was excellent. 10 out of 10, I'd thoroughly recommend.

Antica Pesa is the sort of place you dream of having as your local. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. The dining room itself is beautiful, the menu imaginative and well sourced, and the staff attentive without being intrusive. Certainly the best meal we had in Rome. About halfway through, we seriously considered actually coming to live in Rome, just so we could keep eating here. Can't wait to go back!

Antica Pesa is a high quality restaurant with very attentive service. The owner made us feel special and they whole place has a comfortable feel to it. I would love to say our meal was superb -and the flavours of the food were indeed delicious, but the quantity of the main course was what you would expect fom a starter (small pieces of fish with a tiny portion of beans, stew consisted of about 4 tablespoons of meat and vegs). I would recommend - but be sure to ask what course consists of.

The outside of the restaurant gives no hint of whats inside. This restaurant had everything that we look for: Attentive service, excellent food and a warm ambience. Without being too gushing, if you go to Rome you should try and visit Antica Pesa at least once. We will certainly be coming back when we next visit the city
