The Anchor Inn has evolved over the last 350 years and now offers every modern facility, but with a timeless charm and character that ensures you still experience a feeling of true antiquity. Scrubbed pine tables on gently undulating floors, antique prints, roaring log fires in the winter lit by the gentle glow of old-fashioned gas lights, all enhance the cosy, intimate atmosphere of the family run english inn. The core of the menu is traditional british food in the best sense... using local produce wherever possible. In spring you can choose fresh hand-dressed crabs from Cromer, Samphire (marsh asparagus) and new season lamb amongst many other dishes. Through the summer fresh strawberries, asparagus, Bottisham smoked hams, Brancaster oysters and mussels and summer pudding may also be enjoyed. In the winter you can feast on pheasant, pigeon and wild duck from the marshes with our own sticky toffee pudding to follow.
