Alloro restaurant in Leicester has risen rapidly to the top of the local dining scene. This smart yet informal restaurant in contemporary, light-filled style features a comfy bar area where you enjoy coffee after dinner. Alloro – it means ‘bay leaf’ in Italian – has several menus. The a la carte menu features inventive dishes with special emphasis on the Neapolitan chef’s favourite seafood, and the rustic regional Italian menu explores that country’s culinary riches. A pasta section lets you choose your own pasta shape and sauce from a dozen options. The mostly Italian wine list features some New World bottles. The two-course lunch or dinner specials are a steal. Quality, ambience and service are all top notch.

A very pleasing find in the middle of Leicester -Alloro. Excellent selection of pastor, sources and accompanying food. They also have a great choice of other main dishes, starters and puddings. I can personally vouch for the excellent fish which was well presented. Excellent friendly service with good atmosphere.

Alloro had a good atmosphere with a hen party already there and lots of diners at 8pm. We got served quickly, just had bread and olives to start - nice bread! I had a delicious tuna steak for main, you could choose salad or veg to go with mains. The seafood and the chicken were also praised by my friends. I always appreciate a chocolate with the bill as well.
