Om Alla Turca - The Turkish Melody
It's on Pitt Street, in the city centre, that you'll find Glasgow's Alla Turca live music restaurant. There really isn't anywhere else like it, particularly because it's a live music restaurant. Every night from 6pm, the mixed crowd eat settle into the modern space to the lively sounds of the saz, a traditional Turkish guitar. Come the weekend, dancers accompany the musicians to create quite a show. Lots of dishes to choose from, starting with traditional (kizir - peppers, parsley, cous cous, nuts, £3.95) to modern (baked figs stuffed with cheese, £4.50) meze. Mains are also divided into traditional and more contemporary dishes. Seafood and veg dishes too. Nice touches include Turkish Delight and digestif with the bill.
Please be aware that Alla Turca does not allow children on the weekends.Last orders for dinner are at 10pm

The food at Alla Turca was lovely. the atmosphere wasn't great, but then our table was booked very early and we missed the turkish dancers as we had to leave before they came on. I'd definitely go back.

I cannot reccomend this restaurant. I was overcharged and despite an embarrassing episode when I went back to query the bill the next day this was not rectified. Additionally the bill added a 10% service charge - I was then passed a credit card machine which invited me to add a service charge - I did so they ended up with a 20% service charge. So beware. Overall the meal at the Alla Turka was only average, the place was empty and ended up costing about double what I expected to pay.Recension
I visited Alla Turca on a Monday night, it was quiet but the services was efficient and friendly. The musician turned up towards the end of the meal and played making an interesting evening. Food was good, but I think I over heard that the head chef wasn't working that evening which may be why I wasnt as amazed as some reviewers.Besökare
