Om Acquolina Hostaria
Red alert. The gastronomes of Rome are stampeding to Acquolina Hostaria, the newest venture of the brothers Troiani. For years Il Convivio Troiani has been a peak of Roman dining, and now the energetic brothers Troiani have opened this small, exclusive new place. Acquolina Hostaria is modern and elegant with some al fresco seating for typical Roman weather. The menu relies heavily on the catch of the day, featuring oysters, clams and anything that swims prepared in a mixture of classic and modern styles, including raw and sushi-style preparations. The wine list, as at Il Convivio, is absolutely huge and, at eighty percent white, very well matched to the fish dishes. Dinner only, with a tasting menu that will have you hooked.

A credit card is required to reserve a table, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. A fee of 20€ per person will be charged for a cancellation within 24 hours or for a no show

What a gem! I am so pleased I took the advice of the other Toptable reviews as this restaurant is really special. The food was fantastic. Each course was cooked to perfection, with all the tastes and courses complimenting each other. The staff were very pleasant. The restaurant was quiet but this didn't matter because the food was so good. I would definitely recommend and definitely return.
Recension
The Acquolina Hostaria is a bit out of town (approx 10-15 mins by Taxi from the Spanish Steps), and in a rather downbeat part of town. Main restaurant was emtpy when we arrived, but the terrace was quite lively. The service here is first class, and spot on timing, ( they were not busy). We went for the Tasting Menu, which was excellent, although one dish was rather salty and to be honest, by the end of it we were pleased there was no more fish to come! Overall GREAT! if you like lots of fish.Recension
