Om abarbistro
Nestled in a historic building in Old Portsmouth, abarbistro, which is just a stone’s throw from Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower, is a cosy venue that is perfect for leisurely lunches and hearty homemade meals all year round. Whether you fancy sunning yourself in the garden with a chilled glass of wine, or tucking into a delicious dinner in the dining room on a stormy night – this is a top spot for family get-togethers, weddings and celebrations. The light-filled dining room at abarbistro is simply decorated in a neutral palette of tan, cream and blonde wood, and the modern British menu is guaranteed to please. We love the Leffe-battered haddock with chips, tartare and mushy peas; and the roast pork with crackling and cinnamon apple jam.
Opening hours:

Abarbistro was heavily bombed during WWII, and reopened as The American Bar in 1965.

What a find! We booked this venue for Sunday lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food (all freshly prepared - even the bread) and the standard of service (knowledgeable and friendly staff). The dining area was pleasant, bright and clean, although I'm not sure how well it would suit a more formal or romantic dinner. All in all a great find in Portsmouth, at which we expect to be returning to very soon and very often.Recension
I was attracted to Abarbistro by the Southsea Directory ad which said it had been newly refurbished. We really liked the decor and the food which I though was tastly, nicely presented and good value for money. The service was copious and attentive and the atmosphere freindly and open.Recension
I enjoyed the food and service. Although the ambience is excelent for lunch, I found it too plain for a special dinner.Besökare
