Om Aangan – Feel at Home
In traditional Indian homes, an ‘aangan’ is a courtyard where families gather to eat, drink and be merry together. It makes sense then that the owners of Aangan restaurant in Reading have created a welcoming and uniquely easy-going environment that feels like a home away from home – with better food. Located in the Queen’s Walk, minutes from the busy Broad Street, Aangan is perfectly located for a quick mid-shopping lunchbreak, evening meals or for drinks before a show at the Hexagon Theatre. Our favourite dishes from the fresh and delicious vegetarian Indian menu include the Chole-Bhature - a spicy chick-pea curry, and the Rava Dosa - South-Indian savoury pancakes filled with potatoes and served with lentils and coconut chutney.

Recension
Aangan is an unusual restaurant. The menu makes a refreshing change from the typical anglicised Indian menu found in most Indian restaurants. There is a good variety to choose from. We had several dishes to share between us, and they were all good. The decor is quite stark, but not unpleasant, just a different style. Nice at this time of year that is wasn't full of Christmas parties, mainly couples and families having a quiet meal out.

Aangan is a vegetarian restaurant specialising in both south and north Indian cuisine. It's opposite the Hexagon in Reading - not the best area of town but the restaurant is well worth a visit for the delicious food. Both my husband and I thought the food was absolutely fantastic and intend to visit often while we are in the area. It is unusual to have a choice of proper Indian desserts in a restaurant but they were delicious and authentic. This is proper Indian cuisine, cooked perfectly.Besökare
