Critically acclaimed Zippelhaus Restaurant is located on Zippelhaus (who’d have thought), a short, picturesque walk from Hamburg’s beautiful 12th century harbour. The first thing that strikes you is the size. Zippelhaus Restaurant is a memorably large, high-ceilinged space with original brick walls, an unlaquered wood floor, angular dark wood pillars and a lighting scheme that makes it all even more atmospheric than it sounds. No need to worry about someone eavesdropping on your conversation here. There’s so much space there’s even room to dance should the live piano music move you in that way. Based largely on international and regional specialties, the Zippelhaus menu changes once a month, allowing the chefs to focus their considerable skills on seasonal ingredients. They also make daily recommendations, based on their pick from the market that morning. Every major wine region is represented in the cellar, with special attention given to reasonably priced vintages.

Cancellations must be made at least 24hrs before the reservation takes place. The table is kept only 15 minutes
