Zest is our new favourite curry house. We were accompanied by a friend who was brought up in Bombay who knows and loves Indian food and he agrees with my assessment 100%. The food is extraordinary and the service friendly and first class. House wine is very reasonably priced and the whole experience is great value for money. Top marks and very highly recommended. We returned for more two days later!

If you fancy an Indian meal, Zest is the place to go. I've been there three times and and I haven't been disappointed yet. Naan bread is good as it's not too thick, and I especially like the bhindi and mushroom bhaji side dishes.

Place works well for groups (I took 12 there). Food very good and plenty of it, beers chilled to perfection and short walk from city.

Zest was reasonably quiet on the night our party of seven visited. The menu is very short, but made a choice easier. Service was a bit slow and no drinks were offered to the first arrivals of our party. Food was good, but to be honest I've had better Indian food in Edinburgh. I won't go out of my way to make a second visit.

Zest has a very modern feel, almost too modern, when I go for an indian meal I like to feel like i'm in an Indian restaurant, unfortunately we were the only people present so its not surprising that the service was prompt and possibly over enthusiastic, the lack of ambience aside the food was very good, the mango yoghurt chicken and a slightly more spicy tomato based dish was sampled and both were flavoursome, and excellent vallue for money,watch out though, the drinks are a touch expensive.

We ate in Zest on Sat night - it was a great meal, but not for romantic occasion (tables bit close together and lighting was a bit bright). Great for groups of friends, and excellent food quality.

Had high expectations following other reviews on here. Having eaten, it all seemed very average. Our starter dish never arrived and the service was pretty curt. The food itself was Ok but not that different to what I've eaten elsewhere in the UK.

Friendly service as always and good food. Recommend.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
