About Upstairs @ The Grill
This sophisticated steak house on Watergate Street in Chester serves award-winning modern British fare in chic, understated surrounds. The dark brown and cream colour scheme and opulent furnishings make Upstairs at the Grill a popular place for celebrations and evenings out with friends and family, and the discreet cocktail bar upstairs is perfect for stylish pre/post dinner drinks. Favourite dishes from the classic menu include the pan fried scallops served with hot smoked salmon, buttered celeriac and shellfish cream sauce; beef Wellington wrapped in chicken liver paté and puff pastry served in Madiera sauce; and the Chateaubriand. We also highly recommend Upstairs at the Grill's signature cocktail – the Fruits of the Forest Beliini.

Absolutely loved Upstairs @ The Grill. The bar upstairs for pre-dinner drinks was a great idea and the bar tender came and sat with us to talk through drinks options and then came up with a gorgeous cocktail that wasn't on the menu. The food menu whilst not extensive, still left you spoilt for choice. Food was really really good and staff helpful andfriendly. Would recommend (and already have) to friends and family.

We visited Upstairs @ The Grill for our wedding anniversary. Both my husband and I agreed that we had never in our lives tasted such beautiful steak/beef - cooked beautifully, melted in the mouth. Altogether a wonderful experience at this venue.Review
Upstairs @ the Grill, very good service, lovely steaks cooked just how you like them, nice surroundings, small drawback sat just by the curtain meant draft up back from door behind, tables a little close together, other than that highly recommended, especially if you like good steakVisitors
