About Uncle Jack's Steakhouse - Midtown
Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse restaurant in New York has already conquered Queens and Manhattan, and now looks ready to take on Midtown. Our money’s on the meat. One of the city’s premier steakhouses, Uncle Jack’s serves superb USDA Prime cuts aged for 21 days as well as Kobe beef, both cooked to perfection, in an atmosphere that would give your cardiologist heart failure and the rest of us much pleasure. The décor is very butch, with wood bar, faux-Victorian lighting and mirrors, white table linens, comfortably upholstered man-sized seats. The service is quick and professional and the steaks – including Uncle Jack’s signature 48-ounce (nearly a kg-and-a-half) Portherhouse – are sublime, as are the seafood, pork chops and chicken dishes as well as the surprisingly organic pastas. The drinks and wine list are well-matched to the menu, and the tuxedoed waiters make private events a dream.

I can honestly say Uncle Jacks was not the best steak I have ever had, but it was defiantely the second best. Steaks are HUGE, cooked to perfection and have an amazing flavour. Avoid a starter, and go striaght for the rib chop or fillet steak both were outstanding and excellent value. Only negative comment was the extensive wine list (even with a good exchange rate) was expensive.Review
Fantastic service and food. The crab cakes an steak were seriously good. The only problem I had was the price. We shared a starter, had the porter steak for 2, and the complimentary desert, and pre drink and a bottle of red. This came to more than the 6 course tasting menu and alot more drinks in Maze at the London which was even better, and great value for money. Would still recommend, but just beware of the price.Review
Great ambience, fantastic steaks and good Bar Man made this a good place overall, however found the 'Captain' (Head Waiter more interested in what he likes to eat and became quite pushy about the more expensives aspects of ther menu and in fact made it quite clear he was not impressed with our order. I would advise people to go and eat here, but to make sure they are strong and don't get bullied into eating something they don't want to!Visitors
