About Txakoli
When restaurant Txakoli (Grill-Rotisserie) opened in 1988, it was the first restaurant on the island of Mallorca to offer quality T-bone beef steak in the style common to the Basque region of Spain. Today, Joaquín and Teresa (the younger generation of the Aznar family) continue to run the restaurant, offering the best cuts of quality meats, matured till very tender, and grilled to perfection by their experienced cook Teresa. The name Txakoli relates to a wine region found in the Basque country, where winemakers have to fight the elements (i.e. salty sea air, chilly temperatures and Atlantic winds) to produce this genuinely Basque product. It is usually young white wine, made with the unusual Hondarribi Zuri grape, and it is available for you to taste and enjoy at Txakoli restaurant.
