It was some time since previously visiting Trenchermans restaurant for dinner, we noticed that it had been pleasantly re decorated! While choosing from the selection of a la carte and specials we enjoyed a chilled glass of house champagne. Starters were excellent especially the baby lobster. Main course steak and lamb were very good with a bit too much sauce with the lamb, vegetables (green beans) were quite ordinary. Desserts were good, we would definitely return again soon! V Good value!

We have been going to Trencherman's for a few years now so I'm really pleased they've signed up with toptable! The staff are always friendly and attentive and the food good. It was a shame that the waitress poured our wine without offering us the chance to taste it first but apart from that training issue everything was as good as always. They close for April and I can't wait to see the new refurbished restaurant in May.

We visited the Trencherman's last Friday night. The food was well presented but tasted bland. The service was ok, but the biggest disappointment was the atmosphere, perhaps we were just unlucky however the noise combined with the backwards and forwards from the bar in to the restaurant was just terrible. The biggest culprit was an exceptionally loud, vulgar lady whose mouth was the size of the darford tunnel and took over the whole restaurant and bar.

The meal at Trenchermans was very good, a good choice from the menu and specials with lots of variety we had lemon lobster and scallops to start, the latter were excellent. For main the duck and sea bass, again the duck was excellent, the fish let down primarily by the mashed potatoes which tasted wrong. Overall, a very nice meal and excellent value for money

Trendy with excellent food and wine and great service with sufficient time between courses although we couldn't move afterwards! Quite a leafy location in the square and superb for a quiet drink on the patio on a summer evening. Highly recommend, will visit again.

bit bright for my liking need to turn the lightsv down slightly.waiter barely spoke english and seemed as deaf as a post. food was average nothing special.service was fairly efficient.

The food was average for a restaurant of it's type, pleasant enough but not inspiring. Unfortunately the lighting level was far to bright for a relaxed evening and the waitressing a little over zealous.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
