Sophistication free from pretension sums up this Knightsbridge sister to Soho’s famous Lab bar. Three floors of an ivy-clad Georgian house on Beauchamp Place have been done out in chic earthy/pastel tones and distressed leather banquettes to create a boutique restaurant and bar that’s as comfortable as it is chic. Lose yourself in the 26 page menu of over a hundred cocktails, more than 20 of which are exclusive to Townhouse. As well as all the classics, there’s a particularly excellent Ultra Nova selection made with ultra-premium spirits like Tanqueray Malaca Bramble. From 4pm a mainly Mediterranean choice of light bites, big bites and platters is served, although consultants will happily devise bespoke drinks’ and food menus. The main bar hosts glamorous events of up to 80 people, the first floor 40+, and the lower ground floor 20+. All three spaces have a plasma screen and are air-conditioned.
