Tucked away in London’s oldest square, is the enchanting oasis of The Terrace in the fields. It may be in the heart of the City, but the understated, woody interiors and surrounding landscaped lawns and greenery transport you to an infinitely calmer world. Here chef Patrick Williams whips up modern British cuisine with a Caribbean twist. Absolutely nothing will be charged to the card unless in the event of no shows or late cancellations. Cancellations of less than 24 hours advance notice or no shows will be charged at £15 per person.

I menitoned beforre that service was slow. It was much improved last time. The menu has changesd and there is less available at the lower end of the price range

We had our office Christmas lunch at The Terrace - it was quite a delightful place. The restaurant is bright thanks to the glass windows surrounding the restaurant giving a lot of natural light into the restaurant. However, the restaurant took too many Christmas lunch bookings and our party was 'assigned to the smallest table in the restaurant which made the whole experience rather 'crammed'. The location is what made the restaurant unique and at it felt like being in a Swedish restaurant!Review
At The Terrace In The Fields our waiter "ordered all the wrong food" for us so we had a long wait. One of our party asked for an additional side order of roast potatoes - a real problem for the chef. They eventually arrived after we questioned how difficult a task this was, but turned out to be par boiled potatoes that had been deep fried - not roasted at all. We ordered "Turkey & all the trimmings". This was in fact a turkey roll which arrived on cold plates and was very bland. Disappointing!Visitors
