Located opposite Hyde Park, The Park is the five star Mandarin Oriental's informal restaurant. However, despite being the more casual of the two dining rooms it's still fancier than a fondant fancy. A space of calming green tones, pristine white napery and swift, professional service The Park offers an epic menu (prettily bound with a cinnamon stick) of international cuisine. All dishes came very, very generously portioned. Scallops with green pea froth to start were plentiful and the smoked haddock main with its painstakingly arranged beetroot blocks and poached egg was a mountain of comfort food. For total indulgence, treat yourself to a cocktail from the seductive looking Mandarin bar afterwards.
