About The Hole In The Wall
Recently refurbished and under enthusiastic new ownership, The Hole in the Wall has a new lighter feel, while retaining the ambience in which some of the country's finest chefs have learned their trade. After the first year's trading the new owners were awarded 'Best Business Lunch of the Year', plus great reviews from luminaries as the Guardian as well as compliments and accolades from regular customers and new visitors. The kitchen under the guidance of head chef Mike Mills, who's worked under Rick Stein among others, has created a menu strongly themed on the superb local west-country produce. Everything's made onsite, including breads and ice creams. A constantly-changing set lunch/pre-theatre menu (12noon-3.00pm, 6-7.00pm, running all evening on Monday and Tuesday) and a fantastic a la carte menu. The Hole in the Wall aims to become a much-visited, friendly local restaurant, as well as one for special occasions. A carefully-created wine list comes courtesy of Guy Adams, Managing Director of local independent wine merchant Heritage Wine and co-owner of the restaurant, allowing The Hole in the Wall to offer reasonably-priced options from around the globe to tempt anyone’s palate. Choose from over 70 wines, dozens available by the glass. The Hole in The Wall has returned as one of Bath's culinary focal points.

I rarely give restaurants a 2nd glance this time of year as previous experience has taught me that it is best to stay away around Christmas. I was in Bath for a special occassion and decided to throw caution into the wind! The Hole In The Wall has changed my outlook. The food was rustic, original and a samba on my tongue. Wonderful combinaions of flavours, great service and a busy atmosphere made for an excellent night. I'm only sorry I only get to Bath twice a year as the menu was seductive.Review
We visited The Hole in the Wall in Bath on a filthy night on 6th December. The place was cosy and buzzing. Food was excellent, although I thought the menu a touch limited. Service was attentive but unintrusive. A thoroughly enjoyable experience - well done!Review
We attended the Hole in the Wall in Bath for our first anniversary of marriage on 02/12/07. When we arrived we were only the second group but after about 20 mins the place was busy, vibrant and the venue added to an excellant atmosphere. The menu was slightly limited (only 4/5 dishes per course) and as they were moving over to a new menu some dishes weren't available. Having said that, the food was very good and very filling!Visitors
