About The Gay Hussar
So much has been said about Soho’s Gay Hussar, which has long been a favourite haunt of politicos and writers, that you don’t really go here for the food but rather for the experience. Having said that, the Hungarian peasant dishes are simple but beautifully prepared and Gay Hussar can’t fail to charm even the pickiest diner.

The food was ok, but nothing special. Similarly the ambience. Overall, just ok.Review
I thought the food was fairly tasty and good value for money, only slight critiscm was the speed of service - we ended up having half a bottle of wine left after the meal and had to sit their like a couple of wino's. Overall though worth a visitReview
I was pleased with the quality of food, especially the main course of Töltött Káposzta. However the salad to begin with was so cold I think it came straight from the fridge. Ambience was nice, service was a little rushed having arrived at 7.30pm we had our wine and starters by 7.40pm. Maybe that's a good thing? Overall a nice meal, although better service and cleanliness - things such as plates, table, glasses etc would make it a lot more enjoyable. Toilets were horrible for a restaurant.Visitors
