The Fine Dining Room says what it does on the tin with period charm and a Welsh warmth. It's the airier of two restaurants (there's another, more intimate dining room across the passage, called The Mirror) at The Windsor Lodge, a small Georgian family-run hotel in the centre of Swansea. Light floods in through the original windows and throws it onto the mirrored alcoves. Care shows in the award-winning food, too - a noteworthy menu of at least three starters, five main, and six desserts - all made with beautiful Welsh ingredients and given a idiosyncratic international twist. Local stars - lamb and lava bread - always feature, much to the pleasure of tourists.
